Our story

Given to Wickenburg, kept by volunteers.

The Boyd Ranch was acquired through a generous donation from Alex and Jane Boyd in 2004. Alex and Jane felt there was a need to preserve this beautiful piece of property, which Alex called “a gem in the middle of the desert,” and wanted to make the ranch a resource for the Wickenburg community.

The ranch is managed by the Boyd Ranch Board, a group of volunteers who have been instrumental in preserving and improving the ranch so that its educational and recreational opportunities can be enjoyed for many years to come.

Our mission

Preserve the land, open the gate

The Boyd Ranch Board preserves and improves the ranch so its educational and recreational opportunities can be enjoyed for generations — keeping 160 acres of Sonoran desert and Hassayampa riverfront open to riders, hikers, families and the Wickenburg community.

The board

Run entirely by volunteers

A dedicated board of volunteers manages the ranch, its facilities and its programs — organizing fundraising rides and galas, maintaining the trails and pens, and welcoming groups of every kind to gather in a unique and secluded place.
